Our Story

Sissy's Essentials was born out of a simple frustration: why is it so hard to find skincare that's truly clean, truly effective, and made by someone who actually cares? After years of reading ingredient labels and feeling let down by products full of fillers and synthetic fragrances, I decided to make my own.

What started as a kitchen experiment quickly became a passion — and then a calling. I'm Kristine, the maker behind every product in this shop. I mix, pour, whip, and package everything myself, in small batches, so you always get something fresh and made with full attention.

What "Handmade & Natural" Really Means Here

A lot of brands use those words loosely. Here's what they mean at Sissy's Essentials:

• Handmade means made by me — not a factory, not a fulfillment center. Every batch is mixed, poured, and finished by hand in small quantities.
• Natural means we start with plant-based, minimally processed ingredients. No parabens, no sulfates, no synthetic dyes, no mystery chemicals.
• Small batch means fresher products, better quality control, and the ability to adjust formulas based on what actually works for real skin.

Our Key Ingredients

We're intentional about what goes into every product. Here are some of the hero ingredients you'll find across our line:

• Shea Butter — deeply moisturizing and rich in vitamins A and E, it's the heart of our body butters and a skin-softening staple.
• Coconut Oil — antibacterial, nourishing, and beautifully absorbed, it forms the base of many of our soaps and oils.
• Jojoba Oil — technically a wax, jojoba mimics the skin's natural sebum and absorbs without clogging pores.
• Castor Oil — a natural humectant that draws moisture to the skin and adds a luxurious lather to our soaps.
• Herbal Botanicals — from lavender and chamomile to calendula and oats, our herbal soaks and infusions are chosen for their soothing, healing properties.
• Essential Oils — we use pure essential oils for fragrance and therapeutic benefit — never synthetic perfumes.

How Our Products Are Made

Every product starts with sourcing — we look for high-quality, ethically sourced raw materials. From there, it's all about the process:

• Body Butters are whipped to a light, airy texture that melts into skin on contact. We blend our butters and oils at the right temperatures to preserve their natural properties.
• Soaps are cold-processed, which means we use a lower-heat method that keeps the natural glycerin in the bar — the stuff that actually makes your skin feel soft.
• Body Oils are carefully blended and infused, sometimes with dried herbs, to create nourishing formulas that absorb quickly and leave no greasy residue.
• Herbal Soaks are crafted with dried botanicals, salts, and skin-loving oils designed to turn your bath into a ritual.
